I'm mixing it up a lil bit more to include voices from other parts of the world. My favorite this week was from The Soul of Black Peru. There are other "Latin American" countries that have large Afrikan populations, thank you slavery. But the fact that people are organizing and forming resistance to the dominant flow of things is great...that people are speaking up and reclaiming their identities is fantastic, but only in countries that are not this one.


I mean mexican people are mexican, not native american, even though to recognize mexican@s as native would make us the largest un recognized tribe in North America. they can't have that because then we would have to be recognized. and if we are recognized, then tribes in major uban cities like the Miwoks in SF or the Tungva of the LA basin would have to be recognized too.
